A next-generation feature: the VTO turns a standard 2D cephalometric X-ray into a dynamic, interactive planning tool that lets clinicians simulate and visualize orthodontic or surgical treatment outcomes directly on the image. It helps predict jaw and tooth movements, visualize soft tissue changes, and compare different treatment scenarios, making it easier to communicate plans clearly and confidently. By bridging the gap between diagnosis and patient understanding, VTO makes treatment planning more precise, visual, and intuitive.
How to get to the VTO feature
From the Patient List, click once on the patient’s name to select them. The selected row will turn blue.
In the 2D Actions column, click the Trace button.
The cephalometric tracing will open on the left, and the VTO icon will appear to the right of it. Click the icon to proceed to the VTO page.
This is the control panel for creating the best prediction movement, visualizing tissue, and comparing scenarios.
Planned Treatments - Type a name for a new treatment plan.
Movements - Expand this section to adjust dental or skeletal movements for the selected plan (Soft tissue tonacity and movement, rotations, etc).
View management - Choose how the VTO is displayed as a Ceph, Profile, or Profile over Ceph.
Morph: Enables morphing visualization of soft tissue changes.
Comparison: Shows a side-by-side comparison between profiles or Ceph.
Outline: Show or hide the current outline.
Original outline: Show or hide the original Ceph outline before movements.
Background toggle: Show or hide the X-ray background.
Surgical toggle: Show or hide surgical prediction outlines.
Export - Opens export options (image, PDF, Server, or animation).
Group management - Allows grouping points or outlines for synchronized movement.
Point management - Add, remove, or adjust individual points.
Animate button - appears at the top when Morph is enabled. It activates the animation and displays the predicted surgical visualization.
