How to access the STL View

From the Patient List, select the desired patient by clicking on their name once. The row will be highlighted in blue.

Under the 3D Actions column, click on the View 3D button.

DICOM View Option

If you want to focus on a specific view:

Open the View menu and select one of the following options:

All Views: Axial, Sagittal, and Coronal.

Alternatively, you can close any unwanted view by clicking the X icon on its panel.

DICOM Explanation

Scroll Bar – Allows you to navigate between the image slices.

Measurement Tools – The options located at the top left enable you to measure distances and angles between points.

You can also zoom in and out using the Plus (+) and Minus (–) icons.

The options located at the top right allow you to adjust the display of segmentation. You can click these icons:

To view a slice in 3D, use this icon

To display only the segmentation, and click this icon

To show the projection lines.

Settings Menu

By clicking on the three-line menu, a drop-down list will appear. From there, you can choose which areas of the segmentation you’d like to focus on. To remove an area, simply toggle it off.

Thickness – Adjusts the outline thickness of the segmented areas as needed.

Opacity – Controls the transparency level of the segmentation outlines.

3D View Tools

You can customize your display preferences by selecting which segmentation you’d like to keep visible — for example, the Sagittal view shown below.

  • Show Slice – Displays image slices within the 3D view.

  • Show Border – Displays only the borders of the segmented areas.

  • Show Filler – Displays the filled segmentation regions.

Opacity - You can adjust the opacity of the slices displayed in the 3D view.

Contrast and Brightness - You can adjust them with the scroll bar.

You have additional tools available in the viewer. In the left-hand corner, you’ll find the DICOM 3D View, which lets you visualize the skull in 3D. Next to it, there’s the Split View, which allows you to display the 3D slicer view alongside the segmentation.

You can also use the scroll bar to adjust the view; moving it will let you see more of the face or less of the skull as needed.
